How Do I Plan the Days?
It is very popular to spend a few days in Stone Town before heading to a hotel on one of the coastal areas to spend the rest of your time. While Stone Town does have attractive beaches, the coastal areas are where you are going to see and experience beautiful beaches. Stone Town, with its big city vibe and thriving life, is not to be missed however. We recommend spending 2-3 days in Stone Town and then spending the rest of the days on the coast.
What Part of the Coast?
Which coast you choose to stay on depends on what you’re looking to experience. First, the north coast is considered to be the best part of Zanzibar. Nungwi and Kendwa are the top north coast areas mentioned. Second is the east coast with Jambiani, Paje, and Bwejuu being the top areas there. With all of Zanzibar’s beauty and the warmth of the people, you can’t really go wrong with any side you choose to stay on.
